PETER SUBWAY's origins are to be found in Berlin at the end of the 1980's — a musician playing his guitar on the undergroundtrains. That's how „Petro Metro“ met a lot of musicians to found rockbands like „Barking Fish“ and „The Facelifters“.

guitarmonkeysPeter found his audiance in cultlocations such as the „Fishbüro“ in Berlin, that opened its shady cellerrooms to undergroundrockperformers including performances with the „audionom“ performancegroup „Guitarmonkeys“.

egghead1991 Peter Subway released his first Vinylrecord „Andy Warhol“ on „Twang“.the critics wrote of this debut. „Genius or madness … almost extraterrestrial“.

At that time he was performing with „Tornado“ Günther Thews in the UFA-Fabrik and Chamäleon-Varieté in Berlin with his several bands in the famous „Quatier Latin“ like „54 Models“ or „No Zen Orchestra“.

auf_der_mauerIn 1993 Peter founded the band „Peter Subway & Destination Green“ together with the guitarist Marcus Ekert. Some songs were released in the US on some samplers and he made his first appearance in the USA at the music-conference „SXSW“ in Austin/TX.

headlandIn 1996 his CD „Headland“ was released „Original undergroundrock, direct and somber, influenced by Punk and Wave…“ wrote a fanzine. The audience still appreciate songs as „How I Feel“ and „Ghost In The Machine“.

goodluck1999 back in Berlin he recorded his folk-CD „Good Luck“, supported by Marcus Ekert (guitar), Dieter Dienstag (doublebass) and Zam Johnson (drums).The CD is influenced and inspired by his journeys. „Good Luck“ contains the song „Hey Bill I wanna frenchkiss Hillary“ and „Good Luck bad Luck“. Because, Peter often visited Southeastasia, this themesong was translated now and recorded with Indonesian schoolchildren as backroundsingers into Indonesian language (Bahasa Indonesia) and played in Indonesia (Jakarta and Surabaya) on the radiostations. „Beruntung Tidak Beruntung“.

Peter has two bands: Peter Subway & The Tickets (Dieter Dienstag, Doublebass, and Steve Mood, drums) Rock’n Pop’n Folk’n Roll-entertainment containing a lot of covers.

2005 the album „Peter Subway & The Tickets“ was released in Berlin. This album doesn’t contain only some great folksongs, it shows his passion for rockmusic. www.myspace.com/petersubwaythetickets

SUBWAY STRANGERS (Alternativ-rock). In this band Peter is rocking hard with Bernie (bass), Detlef (guitar and voc.), and Steve (drums). New and old rockcompositions are Peters most passionate project, because all of these songs are out of Peter’s pen.

Last not least you can meet Peter these days with Dieter Dienstag or Gero Parker and his Soundmobil in the center of Berlin, or public places throughout the world.
